Welded Wire Fence Systems
Welded wire security fencing is made from heavy-gauge steel wires welded at each intersection to form rigid mesh panels. Unlike chain link fencing, welded wire fence panels do not unravel when cut and provide a strong, stable barrier designed for perimeter security applications.
Heavy-gauge welded wire fence panels are widely used for perimeter protection at sensitive sites. Cutting an opening in the wire mesh fence panels is time-consuming and difficult, and the small openings discourage climbing by eliminating hand and foot holds. Galvanized wire panels will not unravel or lose structural integrity if cut. The panels may be electrified and/or buried to discourage access from below.
The wire fencing panels are installed on Gregory C-Post fencing framework for added strength. Using heavy-duty fittings with our high-security fence can significantly increase physical security and deter access to areas that may have been vulnerable in the past. When galvanized, the fence’s zinc coating provides enhanced corrosion resistance in harsh weather or tough conditions.
The Welded Wire Fence Systems provide clean, distortion-free visibility. Sophisticated passive or active alarm systems integrate well with our systems due to their low noise factor and limited wind-based movement, minimizing false alarms.
Welded Wire Panel Sizes
Welded Wire Panels are available in 1/2" x 3" openings. The panels are 87" wide for 7' on-center post installations. They come in 8', 9', 10' or 12' heights. Eight-foot panels can be vertically stacked to make a 16' height. Three horizontal rails are recommended for all heights.
Benefits of Welded Wire Panels
Welded wire security fencing offers superior protection compared to chain link, with benefits that include:
Anti-Cut and Anti-Climb Protection
Heavy-gauge wire and small welded joints make cutting or establishing finger holds virtually impossible.
Increased Visibility
The flat, two-dimensional profile makes it easy to see through the wire mesh fence panels.
Corrosion Resistance
The welded wire panels are stubborn against breakdown caused by aging and weather. We offer the panels in a galvanized or PVC coating.
Cost-Effective
Welded wire fence panels are typically less expensive than similar security fence solutions.
Welded Wire Fence Systems Vs. Chain Link Fencing
Welded wire fencing provides greater security than chain link, especially when combined with heavy-duty fittings and the Gregory Fence C-Post framework.
Feature | Welded Wire Security Fence | Chain Link Fence |
| Security | Designed for perimeter security applications | Typically used for general perimeter fencing |
| Cut Resistance | Welded joints resist cutting and deformation | Woven wire can be cut with bolt cutters |
| Climb Resistance | Small mesh openings discourage climbing | Larger openings provide footholds |
| Structural Stability | Rigid panel system | Flexible wire mesh |
For the strongest perimeter protection, use Gregory’s Super-C framework. For applications requiring even greater cut resistance and rigidity, explore our expanded metal fence panel system.
Welded Wire Fence Systems Specifications
Complete the Welded Fence Systems with Super-C Framework
Gregory Fence's Super-C framework, as specified by ASTM F1043, provides greater strength than Sch. 40 pipe. It is coated with a minimum of 2 oz. of zinc per square foot (the heaviest coating on the market). This provides greater corrosion protection than tubular pipe and at a lower cost.
Greater Strength and Corrosion Protection with C-Post Framework
The Gregory C-channel fence post is stronger, quicker to install and more resistant to corrosion over time. This fence framework depends on the more effective C-shape metal fence posts that offer greater bending strength perpendicular to the fence line. The C-Post fence benefits include:
- Can be mechanically driven without the use of concrete
- Heaviest amount of continuously coated zinc available on any framework on the market
- Open-channel design eliminates condensation buildup inside, reducing maintenance
- Drives quicker, easier and self-anchors more effectively than tubular posts
- Available in any length.
When installed on a C-Post framework, welded wire security fencing offers enhanced perimeter security. Learn more about the Gregory C-Post fence framework.
